Beginner Band

Beginning band is for 6th grade students who have a desire to study a woodwine, brass or percussion instrument and participates in a full ensemble contest called "Music Across Texas" in the Spring. Instrument interviews occur during 5th grade year to deterine the instrument students will study.

In Beginning Band, we study how to read music and become acquainted with the instrument we will study.  There is at least one seasonal concert each semester.  In the spring, after we have learned the basics, students enjoy the opportunity to participate in two contests as a band ensemble, and solo contest, too.
